Who is Julico Learning for?

What does a typical session look like?

Each session lasts 60 minutes and includes a combination of targeted teaching, independent activities, reasoning and problem-solving tasks, and opportunities to apply and consolidate learning. Sessions are planned around the needs of the children within each group.

How many children are in each group?

Groups are intentionally kept small, starting with a maximum of 4 children. This allows children to benefit from learning alongside their peers while still receiving individual attention and targeted support.

Group sizes may increase to a maximum of 6 children where appropriate and at the discretion of the tutor, while maintaining the quality and personalised nature of the sessions.

Are the sessions Maths or English?

Both! Maths and English alternate each week.

For example:
Week 1 - Maths
Week 2 - English

This allows children to receive regular support across both subjects while maintaining a consistent weekly session.

Can I book Maths only or English only?

Our weekly programme includes both Maths and English, with the subjects alternating each week. This structure allows us to maintain consistent groups and plan sessions effectively around the needs of the children attending.

Individual subject-only bookings are not currently available.

Will the sessions be personalised for my child?

Yes. Before joining a group, I will learn more about your child's current strengths, areas for development and learning needs. Sessions are then planned with the needs of the children in each group in mind, while ensuring that individual targets can be addressed.

Does my child need an assessment before joining?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A consultation and an assessment will help me understand your child's current needs and goals for attending tutoring sessions.
It also gives you, as the parent/guardian, an opportunity to discuss your child's learning and ask any questions before committing to tutoring sessions.

Question 8

How much do the tutoring sessions cost?

Sessions are £35 per 60-minute session.Your child's place is reserved on a weekly basis, with payment made in advance, monthly. The total amount due will be based on the number of scheduled sessions falling within that month. You will receive an invoice by email detailing the sessions included and the total amount payable.

Can my child attend on a one-off basis?

No. Julico Learning is designed around consistent weekly attendance, rather than one-off or drop-in tuition.

A regular weekly place allows learning to be carefully planned, skills to be revisited and progress to be monitored over time.

Question 10

What happens if my child cannot attend a session?

Accepted Answer

Because sessions are planned in advance around the needs of the children attending, missed sessions are not refundable, but certain absences may be eligible for a session transfer in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.

If your child is unable to attend, please provide at least 48 hours' notice wherever possible. Where sufficient notice is given, the missed session may be transferred to the following month rather than refunded.
For unexpected illness or absence with less than 48 hours' notice, the session will normally remain payable and cannot be transferred.

If your child is going to be away on holiday, please let me know before the monthly invoice is issued. I will then take the planned absence into account when calculating that month's invoice.

For other absences, parents should notify me as soon as possible. If a child misses three consecutive sessions, their place within the group may be reviewed and may be offered to another child. This helps to maintain consistent group sizes and ensures that places are available to children who are able to attend regularly.

How do I secure my child's place?

Following the initial consultation and assessment (home visit), suitable families will be offered a place in an appropriate group. Payment of the sessions secures your child's weekly place. Places are limited to maintain the small-group nature of the tutoring sessions.

Question 12

Will the sessions be led by a qualified teacher?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Julico Learning is led by an experienced, qualified teacher (QTS) with extensive experience teaching in Key Stage 2, with many years experience teaching Year 6 and preparing children for their SATs assessments.

Where are sessions held?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are held in a classroom in a secondary school in Northampton. Further information about the venue and arrangements will be provided when your child's place is confirmed.
